Healthy Mouth Tips

Did you know that one of the quickest and most cost-effective ways to make a huge impact on your smile is to whiten your teeth? Not only does it give your smile a boost, it can actually take years off of your appearance. Dr. Kenneth Cho and his team offer a couple of effective whitening options designed to update your smile quickly. Here are your options for teeth whitening in Fullerton, CA.

In-Office Whitening

For patients looking for fast and immediate results, we offer the ZOOM! in-office whitening system. We’ll place a protective barrier around your soft tissues and apply a high strength whitening gel to your teeth. We use ZOOM!’s special light to activate the whitening gel. Then we finish with a fluoride treatment to help combat sensitivity. The results are stunning and you’ll leave our office with teeth that are 6 -10 shades lighter than when you came.

Take-Home Whitening

For patients who would rather whiten their teeth at home at their leisure, we offer take-home whitening trays. We’ll create custom fitting trays based on an impression we take of your teeth. We’ll help determine the right strength whitening gel for your needs and give you a crash course on how to properly use the trays. Then you’re off to whiten at home, and we recommend that you do so for two weeks initially in order to achieve your desired results. After that, you can purchase whitening gel from our office whenever you need to update your look before that next big vacation or event.

Professional Whitening vs Over-the-Counter

It may seem more cost effective to purchase your whitening system from the grocery store, but here are few things to consider. The whitening gel that we have access to here at our office is a much higher strength than you can buy at the store, so you may have trouble achieving your desired results from an over-the-counter product. We will customize your whitening trays to fit you properly, whereas store bought whitening systems may be ill-fitting, which can cause injury to your gums, cheeks, and lips. It’s also advisable to whiten under the supervision of your dentist in case you should encounter issues with sensitivity.

If you’re ready to take the next step and brighten your smile, contact Dr. Cho today to schedule your whitening appointment.

Great Office!

New patient for examination and cleaning: Arrived early 11:48 am for 12:00pm appointment, had paperwork filled out by 12:01, called to the back at 12:16. Had full x- rays, photographs -in my opinion unnecessary - and a panoramic x-ray - which was a bad image as the bottom half of the image was obstructed by the lead apron. The dentist exam included deep poking of gums to check for gum pockets, heavy hands noted toward the back teeth which resulted in bleeding - I brush and floss regularly and never bleed from flossing, however, dentist recommendation was “gum treatment, ” which is essentially a deep cleaning under local anesthesia in all 4 quadrants, this is not fully covered by the insurance, I was quoted $600 out of pocket. I declined stating “I will not pay that.” The regular cleaning was not performed as I declined the deep cleaning, no other option. Just felt like the deep cleaning should be reserved for people with symptomatic gum disease, including symptoms such as bleeding or red gums - both of which I do not experience. I’m definitely getting a second opinion and recommend always getting a second opinion if a dentist readily “recommends” a “gum treatment” on the very first visit, which may be unnecessary and lead to unwarranted invasive treatment with possible complications.

Great Dentist!

Great personal care

Dr. Kenneth Cho is a dentist that we trust. My family and I have been going to his office for 20+ years. He was the first dentist for both of my children (now collage age), and they still go to him. He can take care of every need for oral health including braces. No need to go from place to place, and everyone in the office is friendly and helpful.
